Day 9.95: Stompin' the shadows!

After we saw the petroglyphs, we stopped at a great bed and breakfast.  It was really neat to see the inside of mud hut and have it be myriad bright colors. I can imagine walking into a rainbow would be much the same.
Outside they had a fire pit where you could make some fresh tea and sit around to talk with persons.

But my favorite part of the B&B is that you get to go on camel rides. We spent a bit of time making friends with some of them, and I think that I made a girlfriend. She made some kind of crazy noise after I gave her some hay.

Then we were off to a pool from the Byzantine period. It is as amazing as the petroglyphs in that it just sits there alone in the desert created and abandoned--which isn't exactly right because we went to see them. Okay, so perhaps they served a special purpose once, and they have been repurposed as attractions. The pool was huge; our house could have fit in it, and the bottom was filled with the debris that collected over the years. There were only a few stones that fell out of place, and the thing is pretty much intact. We were standing on the edge and realized that there was some crazy sound stuff going on. So we took turns going to the other side of the pool and whispering; the others could hear clearly what was being said.

Shelby and Lulu stomping shadows.
We started off on our adventure without our tour guide/drill sergeant Lulu. But she was waiting for us at the B&B, and she joined us on our walk home. She introduced us to a great game--step on the other's shadows. I won the first match, and then Lulu and I played for a while until we couldn't take it any more. It was wonderful to hear Lulu play like a child because she has such responsibilities on the farm.

I ended the night watching the sunset from Cafe Ezuz. Beautiful.
