Day 9.75: Ancient graffiti.

Our Shabbat started with a hike out into the desert to see some ancient petroglyphs. As we went through the grove there was a soldier reading a book. It was a great place for peace and quiet, which every soldier wants--I know.

The we headed off into the desert to see some ancient petroglyphs. We had to walk a couple of miles to get there, but hey, who doesn't want to walk a couple of miles through the desert? Once we got there there were some really beautiful markings. My favorite was the duck; well, it may not be a duck, but that is what I am calling it. Sometimes it was tough to discern what the markings were, but there was a boar and other animals that did not live here. I guess we weren't the first travelers to this part of the desert.

Which was absolutely beautiful today. I cannot imagine a more beautiful place to be.
Looking into Egypt.
The woman sitting on the rock is Lorrett, who is from France. This image reminded me of a Casper David Friedrich painting.
