Day 37: I have a great life!

And it is back to Mark Dam. I've nearly completed the main digging; the trench is done to the bedrock. And I widened it to 110 centimeters. Then I had to start on the part where the wall will be reinforced by a buttress. I'm digging that trench. But it was so hot today that I had to work at a slower pace than normal. Avi is fine with that, as he can see that I'm working my butt off--maybe literally.

This picture on the left is the trench for the buttress.

And this is where I've left off for the day, as this afternoon I start on the new greenhouse. Remember that I said I'd be bouncing back and forth between projects, well here it goes.

Are you sick of looking at my snacks yet? I threw a peach in just so you'd have something new to look at. I'm still so amazed that I get to walk into the orchard and select my snacks right off of the tree. I have no idea how I'm going to face the same old food stuffs when I get home. There must be a way that we can afford to eat such good stuff. Maybe make a garden.

This afternoon I put the stakes in for the new greenhouse. Using a sledge hammer for a couple of hours really puts you in touch with your shoulders!

Then I helped put coverings over the seedlings in the big greenhouse. The birds like to come in and eat the little plants. I asked why they didn't just close the doors on the greenhouse, and Tamar said that doing so causes myriad other problems, like aphids, other bugs, etc. Silly me to think that they have not thought of this before today.

Can you believe how big the cucumber plants are already? Check back a couple of blogs o when I put up the fence for the vines to climb.

Then there was the walk home. I don't always get this view, but when I do I walk really slowly. It can take a half of an hour to walk home because it is so pretty out. I have a great life.
